Their story
Alicja Buchowicz had no formal chocolate training. Bored with her office routine, she started making bonbons at home and selling online, then moved to bars because they keep longer and waste less.
The idea that made her name came at her desk, when she set a foil-wrapped bar on a stack of envelopes. Her postcard bars have room for a note and a stamp. She now runs a shop and test kitchen on Bank Street in Ottawa's Glebe neighborhood, complete with a mailbox, and became a face of Ottawa Tourism's City of Makers campaign.
How it's made
Bars are made in small batches in her Ottawa kitchen using local ingredients where possible. Flavors lean whimsical, from donut and cookie crumb to matcha and a sweet-and-salty ramen bar, and each is tested on local customers before it joins the lineup.
I just put a bar on a stack of envelopes on my desk, and I realized it was a perfect fit
Why we carry them
A chocolate bar you can mail is about the most charming gift we know. We love the offbeat flavors too.
