Their story
Boyer de Bar is a partnership between two childhood friends. Vincent Boyer makes wine at Domaine Boyer-Martenot in Meursault, and Emmanuel Lucas De Bar owns vineyards in the Herault valley of the Languedoc.
The two teamed up in 2018 to make wines from Emmanuel's vines near the village of Pezenas. The goal is southern sunshine with the care and precision of Burgundy, at a price that suits everyday drinking.
How it's made
The organically farmed vines grow on clay and gravel with some limestone. Grapes are picked by hand, fermented with native yeasts in tank, and bottled without fining or filtering. The wines are labeled Vin de France.
Our featured pick
Les Peyrarols Chardonnay (750ML)
$32.00
The result is Vin de France. But that's not exactly a bite-sized cracker.
