Their story
Casa Vecchio Mulino is a small family bakery in Carmagnola, a town just south of Turin in Piedmont. The family traces its baking back to 1860 and has passed the craft down through four generations.
Piedmont is the home of grissini, and the bakery's range sticks close to that tradition: rubatà breadsticks, a style that goes back to the 17th century, plus mini breadsticks, thin flatbreads called lingue and small square biovette rolls.
How it's made
The breads are rolled and shaped by hand using techniques handed down in the family. The flatbreads are made from flour, water, salt and olive oil, and the biovette rise for several hours at room temperature before baking.

Why we carry them
These are the breadsticks we want next to a plate of prosciutto. The lingue flatbreads are just as good with soft cheese or a dip.
