Their story
Château Saint Julian is a Bordeaux Supérieur from the Entre-deux-Mers, the wide stretch of vineyards between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. It is part of a collection of wines from lesser-known corners of Bordeaux brought to the U.S. by importer Michael Skurnik.
The wine comes from vines more than 30 years old on clay and limestone, and it has built a following as a well-made, affordable claret.
How it's made
Recent vintages are a blend led by Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, from certified organic vines picked by hand. Fermentation uses native yeast, and the wine ages in concrete.
