Their story
Christoph Edelbauer farms in and around Langenlois, the wine town at the heart of Austria's Kamptal. His family has owned vineyards and orchards there for generations, though the land was leased out for a generation while his parents worked in science.
In 2003 Christoph took the vines back and started making wine under his own name. He now works about 12 hectares, all close to Langenlois.
Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are the backbone of the cellar, but Pinot Noir is the grape he cares about most, alongside Chardonnay and other Burgundy varieties.
How it's made
The estate has been certified organic since 2012, and its vineyards sit on loess, gneiss, slate and primary rock. Grapes are hand-picked where it counts, and the wines are made with a light hand and patience, aiming for a cool, structured style that shows where they were grown.

Why we carry them
We like Edelbauer as a small, organic Kamptal grower with a real feel for Pinot Noir. His Grüner Veltliner is a great way to start.
