Their story
Hervé and Marie-Claire Félix took over the family domaine in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in 1987, and their son Olivier joined in 2016 to look after the vines, the cellar and exports. The family's roots here trace back to 1690.
In the early 1900s the Félix family sold barrels of wine to Paris markets, and by the 1920s they also grew cereals and cherries and kept dairy cows. Under Hervé the vineyard grew from 11 to 31 hectares, spread across Chablis, Irancy and Saint-Bris.
How it's made
Since 1996 the family has followed lutte raisonnée, keeping chemical treatments to a minimum. In the cellar they use optical sorting, pneumatic presses and temperature-controlled fermentation, and the reds are destemmed and aged in oak barrels.
Why we carry them
Saint-Bris is Burgundy's Sauvignon Blanc outlier, and the Félix family's version is a fun curveball for Burgundy fans.
