Their story

Fort Point Beer Co. was started in 2014 by brothers Justin and Tyler Catalana, with co-founders Dina Dobkin and Mike Schnebeck. The brewery set up in the Presidio near Crissy Field, within sight of the old fort under the Golden Gate Bridge that gave it its name.

Its flagship KSA, a kolsch-style ale, and Villager, a San Francisco take on the IPA, became fixtures around the city. Fort Point runs a taproom on Valencia Street and a beer garden at the Ferry Building.

In April 2025 Fort Point merged with Sonoma County's HenHouse Brewing to form Fort Point HenHouse Inc., with Justin Catalana as CEO. Both breweries keep their own names and beers.

How it's made

Fort Point brews in San Francisco and focuses on balanced, clean beers meant for everyday drinking, from the crisp KSA to hoppier IPAs and a rotating single-hop pale ale series. Nearly all of its beer is sold here in the Bay Area.

The merger enables us to truly future-proof our business while doubling down on our values.

Why we carry them

Fort Point is about as local as beer gets for us. KSA is the one we reach for on a warm afternoon or with a plate of oysters.
