Their story
Annie Slabotsky and Morgan Lerner met as freshmen at the University of Michigan, where they bonded over food and baking through a student food magazine. On a drive to Annie's childhood home to bake her family's banana bread, they hit on the idea of a loaf that was both comforting and better for you.
They launched GoNanas in 2016 while still in school, selling at Ann Arbor markets and coffee shops. The founders are now based in Chicago, and the line has grown from mini loaves to baking mixes introduced in 2020.
How it's made
The original mini loaves are vegan, gluten-free and free of the top allergens. The baking mixes come with pre-measured dry ingredients, and you add your own ripe bananas and a few pantry staples at home. Production takes place at a manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania.
Why we carry them
Banana bread is the ultimate comfort bake, and we like a version that more people at the table can enjoy. The mixes are a great use for spotty bananas.
