Their story
Hobo Wine Company belongs to Kenny Likitprakong, who grew up in Santa Rosa. He started it in 2002 with just two barrels of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.
The business has grown into a family of labels, including Hobo, Folk Machine, Banyan, Camp, Edith & Ida and Ghostwriter, and has been based in Santa Rosa since 2013. The aim has stayed simple: make good wine that people, including the winemaker, can afford to drink.
How it's made
Hobo owns no vineyards and buys grapes from California growers Likitprakong has worked with for years. He sets a target shelf price first and builds each wine to meet it without cutting corners. The company gives 1% of gross revenue to environmental groups through 1% for the Planet.
Why we carry them
We like Hobo wines for weeknight bottles that still feel thoughtful. Folk Machine is a good label to explore across the range.
