Their story
Hot Crispy Oil comes from John Trimble, whose family ran La Serre, a longtime restaurant in Albany, New York. When the pandemic shut down the restaurant's banquet business in 2020, Trimble was at home with three kids and started cooking a lot.
One recipe, a spicy oil he was making for himself, got such a strong reaction from family and friends that he started selling it. By that summer it was on shelves at local shops, and the old La Serre space became its production kitchen, with former restaurant staff helping make it.
How it's made
The oil starts with olive oil and is loaded with fried garlic, fried shallots, and a blend of chili peppers. It is made in small batches in the former La Serre restaurant kitchen in Albany.

Why we carry them
We think this is a great everyday condiment: spoon it on eggs, pizza, noodles, or roasted vegetables. The crunchy garlic and shallots are the best part.
