Their story
Laurent Lebled grew up in Saumur and spent more than 30 years trading chestnut wood across southern Europe. When the 2008 recession ended that business, two childhood friends who had returned to farm family vines urged him to try making wine, even though he had no training.
He helped out at harvest in 2009 and made his first vintage of A la Vôtre! in 2010. He and his wife Sonya now live in Touraine, and their daughter Barbara farms and makes wine from part of the estate, supplying grapes for some of his cuvées.
How it's made
Laurent farms organically, though without certification, on old vines of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Pinot Noir and Menu Pineau on clay, limestone and sandy soils. The wines are made without added sulfur, with carbonic maceration for many cuvées, and they rest on their lees until bottling.
I just jumped right into it by learning in the vines.
Why we carry them
We love Laurent's wines for their bright, juicy, playful character and their cheerful labels. They are easy to share and a good way into natural Loire wine.
