Their story
Lenka Bar is a family business run by Lenka Rasovsky and her son, Steven. Lenka left Czechoslovakia at 23, and the bars carry her name.
The family first baked muffins, but they did not keep well without preservatives, so they switched to granola bars. Production moved from the family kitchen to a basement room and then to a converted building in York, Pennsylvania, and the bars are now sold in cafes and specialty markets around the country.
How it's made
The bars are still made by hand in small batches using simple, natural ingredients. Flavors include combinations like nuts and berries and peanut butter with sea salt.
