Their story
Limestone Branch was founded in 2011 by brothers Steve and Paul Beam, seventh-generation members of one of Kentucky's best-known distilling families. They set up in Lebanon, Kentucky, in the rolling country south of Bardstown.
The distillery is best known for Yellowstone bourbon, a brand first created by relatives on Steve's mother's side. Yellowstone had passed through Diageo before Luxco acquired it, and Limestone Branch now makes and blends it in partnership with Luxco.
How it's made
The Beams work from their grandfather's recipes and use heirloom corn. Their yeast strain was revived from an old family yeast jug through DNA work done with Wilderness Trail. Yellowstone Select blends Limestone Branch distillate with older Luxco barrels, and limited editions get special cask finishes such as Armagnac.
