Their story

Winemaker Francesco Mionetto founded his winery in 1887 in Valdobbiadene, a village in the hills of the Prosecco region north of Venice. Over its first century it grew into one of the best-known names in the area and an early ambassador for Prosecco abroad.

The winery still sits on Via Colderove in Valdobbiadene. Mionetto is now part of the Henkell group, and its US arm, Mionetto USA, was set up in 1997. The range runs from everyday Prosecco DOC to Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG bottlings.

How it's made

The wines are made from Glera, the grape of Prosecco. Mionetto bottles to order to keep the wine fresh. Special cuvees include hand-harvested, vintage-dated wines given extra time on the lees.

Why we carry them

Mionetto is a dependable bottle for spritzes, brunch, or any time you want something bright and bubbly. We like it as an easy introduction to Prosecco from its home turf.
