Their story

Rabbit Hole is the creation of Kaveh Zamanian, a psychoanalyst who moved into whiskey. He incorporated the company in 2012, began contract distilling in 2014, and opened his own $18 million distillery in Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood in 2018.

In 2019 Zamanian sold a majority stake to Pernod Ricard while keeping a large share and continuing to run the business. The deal gave Rabbit Hole the reach to go nationwide and beyond.

How it's made

Rabbit Hole is known for unusual grain recipes, including a four-grain bourbon and whiskeys made with malted rye. Some releases get a second maturation in PX sherry casks, and the lineup also includes a gin rested in rye barrels.

We build on tradition, and there's a lot of heritage in what we do.
Kaveh Zamanian, founder, to Whisky Advocate (2019)

Why we carry them

We like Rabbit Hole for bourbon drinkers ready to try something a little different. The sherry-finished bottling makes a good gift.
