Ron Colon Salvadoreno
High-proof Salvadoran rum cold-infused with single-origin Salvadoran coffee.
Their story
Ron Colón Salvadoreño is a rum brand rooted in El Salvador, built around the country's two great crops: sugarcane and coffee. Its best-known bottle pairs a young Salvadoran rum with beans grown on the slopes near the Santa Ana volcano.
The brand is bottled at a bold high proof, aimed squarely at bartenders and anyone who likes a coffee rum with real strength rather than sweetness.
How it's made
For the coffee rum, Bourbon variety beans from the El Ciprés area, grown at about 1,700 meters, are naturally processed and given a medium roast by Jag's Head Coffee in North Carolina. Whole roasted beans then steep cold in three-year-old rum for 48 hours. It is bottled at 55.5% ABV.
Why we carry them
We think this coffee rum makes a terrific espresso martini or a stronger take on a rum old fashioned. It tastes of coffee, not syrup.
