Their story
Spring44 Distilling was founded in 2010 in Loveland, Colorado, by Jeff Lindauer and a small group of partners. The name comes from a spring in the Rawah Wilderness, about 9,000 feet up, that was labeled Spring 44 on early survey maps.
The distillery started with vodka and has since added honey vodka, two gins, an Old Tom and a London Dry style Mountain Gin, and a Colorado rye whiskey with occasional barrel-aged releases.
How it's made
Water for every Spring44 spirit is collected from the Rawah Wilderness spring and trucked down to the Loveland distillery on a regular schedule. The flagship vodka is distilled five times, and the gins and rye are built on the same soft mountain water.
Why we carry them
The Mountain Gin is a crisp, classic choice for a gin and tonic. We also like the story of a distillery that hauls its water down from the high country.
