Their story
Stacy Madison and Mark Andrus were running a pita sandwich cart called Stacy's D'Lites in Boston in the 1990s. When they ended up with too much pita bread, they sliced the extra, seasoned it, baked it, and handed the chips out to customers waiting in line.
People started coming back for the chips as much as the sandwiches. When a hard winter shut the cart down, the pair switched to making chips full time.
Frito-Lay, part of PepsiCo, bought Stacy's in the mid-2000s, and the brand is still based in Massachusetts.
How it's made
The chips are made the way they started: pita bread is sliced into pieces, seasoned, and baked until crisp rather than fried.
Why we carry them
Stacy's is a dependable cracker for hummus, dips, and cheese boards. We like the simple sea salt chips best.
