Their story
Sted is a chocolate company run by Josh and Kristin Mohagen in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, a small town in the west of the state. The name means "place" in Norwegian, a nod to the region's Scandinavian roots.
Kristin trained at the Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Arizona, and a trip to Napa Valley pushed her toward artisan chocolate. The couple started Sted in 2013 and still make everything in Fergus Falls.
How it's made
Sted makes its bars in small batches in Fergus Falls with organic ingredients like cocoa butter, cane sugar, and vanilla bean. Bars mix in things like cacao nibs, tart cherries, and even scorpion pepper.
Why we carry them
We like Sted for its playful flavors, like the cherry and cacao nib bar that tastes a bit like Black Forest cake. The mini bars make an easy add-on to any gift.
