Tatemada
Oven-baked totopos and salsas made from nixtamalized corn, now out of business.
Their story
Tatemada made Mexican pantry staples, including oven-baked totopos, tostadas and a range of salsas. It was a Certified B Corporation and built its work around partnerships with women in rural Mexican communities, offering safe and dignified working conditions.
The company has since gone out of business, so remaining stock may be limited.
How it's made
Tatemada used nixtamalized corn and fresh, grilled ingredients. Its chips and tostadas were baked in the oven rather than fried, and the company described its sourcing as clean and seed to table.
Why we carry them
We liked Tatemada for its baked chips and roasty salsas made with care for the people behind them. If you still see a jar, it is worth grabbing.
