Their story
Temescal Brewing sits on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood, in a building that was once a movie theater. Owned by Sam Gilbert, it opened around 2017 and quickly became a gathering spot for the East Bay.
The team set out to make a taproom for people who did not always feel at home in craft beer. Its monthly Queer First Fridays grew into one of the most inclusive events in the beer world.
How it's made
Temescal brews on site in Oakland and leans toward beers that are fresh, crisp and soft, often at lower alcohol. The lineup includes hazy IPAs like Love is Love alongside lighter, playful beers such as Pool Noodle and Cat Nap.
This was going to be a place for people that don't have a place in craft beer.
Why we carry them
We love supporting a neighbor across the bay that makes beer this easy to enjoy. Grab a hazy IPA for a sunny afternoon.
