Their story
Ten To One was founded in 2019 by Marc Farrell, who grew up in Trinidad and Tobago and left for the United States at 16 to study chemical engineering at MIT. He later earned an MBA at Harvard before turning to rum.
The name nods to the West Indies Federation, which had ten member countries, and to a well-known saying of Trinidad and Tobago's first prime minister, Eric Williams. The brand celebrates Caribbean rum culture as a whole, and in 2021 the singer Ciara joined as an investor and co-owner.
How it's made
Ten To One is an independent bottler that blends rums from across the Caribbean, drawing on different still types and aging traditions. Its white, dark and five-origin rums are bottled with no added sugar, coloring or flavoring, and are blended to work both neat and in cocktails.
Why we carry them
We like Ten To One for an honest, additive-free rum that mixes beautifully. The white rum makes a bright daiquiri.
