Their story
Tenuta Croce di Mezzo is a family-owned estate at La Croce, just outside the hill town of Montalcino in southern Tuscany. The family has been making wine here since 1971.
Alongside Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, the estate makes Sant'Antimo wines and small batches of olive oil, grappa and a traditional liqueur called rosolio.
How it's made
The family handles everything from the vineyard to bottling and ages its wines in a newly built cellar. They focus on careful quality control and aim to keep their wines fairly priced for the category.
Why we carry them
We like Croce di Mezzo as a way into Brunello country from a small family producer. The Rosso is a great weeknight bottle with pasta.
