Their story

The Pathfinder came together through three people with long careers in drinks. Steven Grasse founded the creative agency Quaker City Mercantile and helped create Hendrick's Gin and Sailor Jerry Rum. Chris Abbott started Mr. Moxey's Mints, and Guy Escolme spent more than two decades at Diageo.

The team spent two years developing the liquid, drawing on ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. It debuted in late 2021 at a bar in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood and launched nationwide that year. Stoli Group invested in the brand in 2023, and it has since reached the United Kingdom and added a premixed nonalcoholic Negroni.

How it's made

Fermented hemp seed stands in for the grain mash used in whiskey, with a yeast strain that keeps alcohol from forming. The base is distilled in copper pot stills, then blended with botanicals including wormwood, angelica root, ginger, sage, juniper, saffron, orange peel, and wild-harvested Douglas fir. It contains no alcohol, THC, or CBD.

Where other non-alcoholic brands are built on what's been taken out, we're all about what has been put in,
Guy Escolme, co-founder, to BevNET (2021)

Why we carry them

We point guests to The Pathfinder when they want a nonalcoholic drink with real bitterness and depth. Try it over ice with tonic or in a spritz.
