Their story

Wyoming Whiskey began in 2006 when ranchers Brad and Kate Mead teamed up with David DeFazio to make whiskey in the tiny town of Kirby, in the state's Bighorn Basin. They started distilling on July 4, 2009, as the first legal distillery in Wyoming.

In 2018 Edrington, the Scottish group behind The Macallan, bought into the company and helped refine production. In June 2026 a Wyoming investment group led by DeFazio bought back Edrington's 80 percent stake, returning the company to local ownership.

How it's made

The whiskeys use non-GMO corn, wheat, rye and barley grown in the Bighorn Basin, along with water from the same area. Everything is distilled and aged in Wyoming, where the high, dry climate and big temperature swings shape how the spirit matures.

Why we carry them

We like Wyoming Whiskey as a true grain-to-glass bourbon from outside Kentucky, with all its ingredients from one valley.
