Ya Oaxaca!

Ready-to-use Oaxacan mole made in Oaxaca by three brothers.

Their story

Ya Oaxaca is run by three brothers, Jesse, Kaelin and Azul. Jesse works in Oaxaca with farmers and suppliers, Kaelin develops the recipes, and Azul runs the business in the United States.

Their moles are based on recipes passed down through generations in Oaxaca, and the company emphasizes fair pay and good working conditions for its team there. In 2024 it received a grant through the PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator program.

How it's made

The moles are sourced and produced in Oaxaca using local ingredients, including dried chiles, heirloom corn and chocolate made in house. They come ready to heat, so home cooks can skip the long process of toasting and grinding.

Why we carry them

We like Ya Oaxaca because a real mole usually takes a day of work; this gets you close in minutes over chicken, enchiladas or eggs.
