Their story
Arte Azul is a woman-owned tequila brand with family ties to the distillery that makes it, Tequila Selecto de Amatitán. Amatitán sits in Jalisco's tequila valley, a short drive from the town of Tequila itself, and has been home to agave distilling for generations.
The range covers the classic styles, from Blanco and Reposado to Añejo and an extra-aged expression, along with a Rosa Reposado.
How it's made
Arte Azul is made from 100 percent blue Weber agave at NOM 1459 in Amatitán. The Añejo rests for two years in French oak barrels, which brings notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted nuts alongside the cooked agave.
Why we carry them
We like that this is a family-connected tequila made at one distillery rather than a contract label. The extra-aged bottling is a fine after-dinner sipper.
