- Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco
Their story
Bandero is a tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, backed by Patrón co-founder John Paul DeJoria and supported by Johanna DeJoria. It has grown quickly, expanding into the U.K. in 2022 through a distribution deal with Molson Coors.
The range includes Blanco, aged tequilas and Bandero Café, a coffee and agave liqueur.
How it's made
Bandero uses single-origin Blue Weber agave grown at high elevation and harvested by hand after six to seven years. The piñas are trimmed, steam-cooked for three days in clay ovens rather than autoclaves, and distilled in copper stills. Bottles use recycled glass, and spent agave fiber is reused.

Why we carry them
We like Bandero for a traditionally made highland tequila at a fair price. The Blanco is an easy choice for margaritas.
