Their story

Barrelsmith is the work of Martha Outlaw and Matt Ellenthal, a couple based in Wilton, Connecticut, who spent about a decade barrel-aging cocktails at home before turning the hobby into a business.

They launched during the pandemic with three stirred classics: a Negroni, a Manhattan, and a Boulevardier. The idea was simple, a bar-quality drink that goes from bottle to glass in seconds, with the rounded edges that time in wood brings.

How it's made

The founders developed their own recipes and components, including a Rosso vermouth made from California wine and a house liqueur named for Martha. A flavor scientist helped them source ingredients and refine the blends. Each batch is made by hand, rested in barrels, and tasted throughout before bottling.

Barrelsmith is our baby; we make sure everything is just right or it doesn't ship.

Why we carry them

We reach for Barrelsmith when we want a proper Negroni or Manhattan without pulling out the mixing glass. Just pour over a big ice cube and add a twist.
