Their story
Bicycle Coffee Co is an Oakland roaster that built its business around a simple idea: roast coffee locally and deliver it to cafes and shops around the Bay Area by bicycle.
Its home has been a garage space on 2nd Street near Jack London Square. Keeping overhead low lets the company price its fair trade coffee close to conventional beans, and its founders have aimed for a model that can be copied city to city.
How it's made
The company buys organic, fair trade coffee from farmers its team meets while traveling in Central and South America. Beans are roasted in Oakland and delivered by bike for zero-emission drop-offs.
