Their story
Bodegas Gallegas is a family-run wine group based in Quintela, in the province of Ourense in Galicia, Spain's green and rainy northwest corner. It has been making wine since 1976.
Rather than focus on one appellation, the group works across several of Galicia's best-known regions, including Rías Baixas, Ribeiro and Ribeira Sacra. That makes it a good single address for getting to know the region as a whole.
How it's made
The wines are built on Galicia's native grapes: Albariño, Godello and Treixadura for whites and Mencía for reds. The family pairs sustainable farming with modern winemaking to make still white and red wines.

A deliciously refreshing white blend comes to us from Galicia, a coastal region whose cool, maritime climate makes it perfect for producing aromatic, mineral-driven white wines with plenty of.

Why we carry them
We like Galician whites for their freshness and bright acidity, and Bodegas Gallegas gives a good sense of the range. Try the Albariño with oysters or the Mencía with roast chicken.
