Their story
MUD\WTR began with Shane Heath, a Santa Cruz native working as a designer at tech startups who was drinking a lot of coffee and feeling the effects on his sleep and anxiety. He left his job for an art residency in Goa, India, where he fell for chai and turmeric and started mixing his own morning drink.
Back home, friends kept asking for his blend. In May 2018 he launched MUD\WTR, mixing and shipping the first batches out of his apartment in Venice, California.
How it's made
The flagship :rise blend combines cacao, masala chai spices and functional mushrooms such as lion's mane, cordyceps and reishi. It has a fraction of the caffeine of coffee and is whisked into hot water or milk.
