Their story

Savannah Bee Company is the work of beekeeper Ted Dennard. In 1999 his tupelo honey went on sale in a friend's shop in Savannah, Georgia, and three years later, in 2002, he founded the company.

It is still based in Savannah and has grown to more than a dozen shops around the US, selling honey alongside beeswax body care and candles.

How it's made

Savannah Bee focuses on single-flower honeys. For tupelo honey, hives are moved to where tupelo trees are blooming so the bees gather nectar from that flower alone. The result is honey with a distinct flavor tied to one plant.

Why we carry them

Tupelo honey is a Southern classic and this is a great one to start with. We love it drizzled over aged cheese.
