Their story

Sightglass started with two Oregon-born brothers, Jerad and Justin Morrison, who began building a coffee bar and roastery in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood in 2009. It was the first business the two had run together.

Their big brick space on 7th Street, home to a vintage roaster, became a neighborhood fixture, and the company later added cafes in the Mission, on Divisadero and in Los Angeles.

After about 15 years at the helm, the Morrisons stepped away in 2024, and former Starbucks executive Sharon Healy took over as CEO.

How it's made

Sightglass buys green coffee through direct relationships with producers around the world, with an emphasis on traceability and fair pay. Beans are roasted in small batches on vintage equipment at the San Francisco roastery and sold whole bean for brewing at home.

Now that we're open, the majority of our time is spent focusing on origin projects.

Why we carry them

Sightglass is a hometown roaster we keep coming back to. Their beans are a reliable pick for anyone who wants to know where their morning cup comes from.
