Their story

Takeaways was started by Ashley Baxter, who noticed that nearly every protein bar on the shelf tasted like dessert. Her answer was a bar for the salt-tooth crowd, the people who reach for chips and fries instead of cookies.

The brand launched in mid-2026 with three flavors, Cheese, Pizza and Spice, and a clear goal of giving savory snackers something with more protein and less sugar than the usual salty options.

How it's made

The bars are built on real cheese and milk, which supply complete protein. Each one has about 12 grams of protein, 120 calories, 3 grams of fiber and only a gram or two of sugar. They are gluten-free and made without GMO ingredients.

Takeaways is for those of us who always order a round of fries for the table.

Why we carry them

We are always glad to find a protein snack that is not another chocolate-chip bar. These are worth a look if you want something savory to stash in a bag.
