Awayuki
A Nara gin made with pink and white strawberries from one farm.
- Based in
- Nara, Nara Prefecture
Their story
Awayuki gin comes from Awayuki Shuzo in Nara, Japan, and takes its name from the Awayuki strawberry, a pale pink variety grown in Nara Prefecture. Strawberries are one of Nara's signature crops, and this gin puts them at the center.
The fruit comes from a single farm in the prefecture, which ties each bottle closely to a specific place.
How it's made
The gin is distilled from a 100% grain base. Pink and white Awayuki, White Pearl and Kotoka strawberries go in alongside classic gin botanicals: juniper, angelica and coriander. It is bottled at 44% ABV.
